Key member of team that renegotiated an existing 49%/49%/2% non-voting, Japan-only, joint venture. Repositioned Gates as the majoirty owner with 51% of the joint venture's shares. Expanded the joint venture to all of Asia and gained access, for Gates’ global use, to the joint venture’s product and process technology.
Led technical licensing negotiations, transfer of engineering information, training, and launch of the manufacturing of KIA power steering assemblies in South Korea. The agreement allowed Gates to continue to maintain an engineering relationship with KIA, and through the supply of key components to the South Korean manufacturer, retain $3.0 million of revenue.
Led the integration of a newly acquired Australian hose manufacturer’s Automotive OEM business into Gates. This included re-pricing and certification of products to maintain global standards and consistency.
Led negotiations for a hose joint venture in The People’s Republic of China. Negotiations resulted in a signed Letter of Intent from both parties and local government representatives, and had moved to the asset evaluation stage prior to my being transferred to the Industrial OEM Division. |
